Diet Coke with Lime

Yikes. Technical Error.

I apologize if, over the last day or two, you tried to come here via a RSS feed and received a 404 error.

Have you ever read a warning like 'Don't change the url of your blog or lots of things will go wrong'. But you think, I'm smart. I'll figure it out so you change it anyway. Then you get all proud because you figured out how to adjust what is needed to get everything working again. All is good now, right? You figure the people that designed the software were just trying to warn the other 1/2 of the population.

Then your husband comes downstairs and says, your site is down. Ah, you think, must be user error.

You try your own feed off your Google homepage. 404 Error - page not found. You panic. You changed your url days ago. Yikes!

You then figure out how to edit your feed so that it starts working again. All is good?

Nope. It only works for people who newly add your feed. Those already in place are still broken. Just curious, you look at your feed stats and see that you lost 25% of your feeds in the last two days?!

Humbled, you realize the people that wrote the software were talking to you. You restore your old url.

A New Way to Look at the World

Yesterday, my new Nikkor Micro 60mm lens showed up, thanks to UPS overnight delivery.  

Just in time for our trip to the wilderness...

 

The lens is pretty darn cool.

Heaven in my Hands

I held a little bit of heaven in my hands tonight...

I'm talking about my brand spankin' new Nikon D90 body that arrived yesterday. Months of saving and Christmas donations from my dad and brother.... ah, I'd be hard pressed to find some other 'thing' that could make me this happy down to my core. Sure, Dave and the boys can make me feel this way, but having such feelings from a 'thang' is just exhilarating!  

Once the battery was charged and I finally found the memory card I purchased in anticipation of my new baby's (oh, dare I call it my baby?! Isn't that reserved for William?! Oh, the conflict...) arrival, I headed downstairs to see what it could do.

My first photograph. Perfect out the gate! It was even taken with the internal flash - oh my, I have never seen the likes of it. Look at the depth and the color... I barely developed it. Oh, could it be true?! 

 

Look here. Look how William's eyes pop. His skin tone is just as it is. His hair naturally golden.

Another perfect photo. The exposure was perfect... (and of course, so is the smirk! This is the 'look' I got after Jack told Maryna, William, and I... "I'm a great Wii tennis player.") 

Can you believe the clarity of this shot of the TV? (Can you believe Jack? He's a great Wii everything player actually. He played for both him and William here - then asked me to take a picture of his score. And ah, I'm not that bad. William played for me most of the time... he's just learning. I was proud of him tonight.)

Well, I can only come to one conclusion... either technology makes leaps and bonds over the years, or I just must have dropped my old camera one too many times! (Is that 'one conclusion'? ...or would that be 'two conclusions'? Hmmm.)

I can't wait to shoot more.
